Hello! We've already been getting some inquiries about OO.cup/2011, so here is a short note: The OO.cup/2011 is planned to be held in West of Slovenia on terrains of Trnovski gozd. Partly, the areas of Mala Lazna (OO.cup/08 and Xtremor/09) will be used and for part of the events we will make new maps on the same plateau. From the aspect of orienteering challanges it will be one of the most interesting OO.cups so far. Map samples you can see below. The date is 22. - 26. July 2011. You can find more touristic information about the area here: The emerald trail. We will add more information to this site in September, as we finish our vacations! Until then, have a nice time!

Here is the Bulletin. Some smaller additions still possible.
All clubs will get an overview map on registration. On this map venues of all stages will be shown as well as accommodation that was booked through us and some more information.
To be able to find the Competition center (CC), please print out this map before you go: How to get to Competition center. Or, if you're coming straight to the first stage, check this out!
Then, we would like you to know that OL-shop Sport Vogl will be present at the OO.cup, however only at the first 3 stages as Finish areas of the stages 4 & 5 are not allowed to be accessed by car!
Start lists are now being processed, hopefully we will publish them soon.

SI chips - very important.
Many of the runners have not entered their chip numbers in the online entry form. In the next few days it's still time to do it. Please use the online entry form until we disable the entry system. After that write us by email. For those who leave their entry without SI chip number we will assume that they want to rent the chip. This means that the chip rental will have to be paid for no matter if own chip is brought on arrival day!! This is so because we (the organizers) must pay for your chip rental as well.

We have some important information:
About camping:
1. We kindly ask all participants who already booked the camping to fill in this form and send it to oocup.camping@gmail.com - this is to make things easier and faster at the registration. Download the form here.
2. Offical camping is now FULL - we no longer accept bookings.
3. If you still want to stay in the camp please try out one of those: Savinja camping, Smica camping or Kamnik camping.
About mobile homes:
1. No mobile homes, caravans or tents are allowed to stay overnight in parking, finish or competition areas!
About the official bus:
1. As it was stated in the invitation the bus was to be organized only in case of enough interest. Unfortunately, this was not the case, which means there will be no offical bus organized. We kindly ask the 3 persons who ordered and paid for the bus to write us and their monies will be refunded. In case you cannot find a lift we can try to help you find somebody through this site.
About the accommodations booked by us:
1. In matter of few days we hope to publish the lists of rooms booked through us. In case we booked the room for you, please check the list and see if all is correct. So, please stay tuned for the lists.
About the 1st and 2nd stage:
1. Because of the local holiday and in order not to make small roads too busy we decided to make a slight change: what was planned to be the 1st stage will actually be the 2nd and what was planned to be the 2nd will actually be the 1st one.
And lastly for today, here is the long ago promised sample of a brand new map which will be used for the 1st stage (formerly planned as 2nd):

The first mapping round is already behind us. It was done for the completely new map of the 2nd stage, where terrain is technically interesting but at the same time very runnable. It is also quite steep. The mapping was rather short, but we are satisfied with how work was going and how the map looks. We're sure you will enjoy it! We will post a map sample soon!
Then, we have an important note: from now on we are no longer accepting accommodation bookings except for the camping and 3 rooms that we still have in our offer. However, the Accommodation section is now updated, so that you should able to find accommodation by yourself easily.
By the way, we currently have 806 competitors entered!

Currently about 720 entries are received for OO.cup/2010, the biggest number, 140, is from France. Vive la France! Alltogether, competitors from 27 different countries entered so far. Perhaps that's the biggest diversity of countries for OO.cup so far.
Slowly we are running out of accommodation places in our offer. This means that soon we will publish a new list or links where to search for your accommodation. Since the area hosted 1600 orienteers in 2007, it should be no problem to find a lodge this year, even if the closest accommodation is mostly booked.
April is when things start to get more serious for us, the organizers. We are now waiting for snow to melt away up on Velika planina. In the meantime we will re-map and map the areas down in Savinja valley.
The picture below is showing the Žagerski mlin mill, it's one of the few still working in the Upper valley of river Savinja. This mill has an interesting story behind. In older times there were gossips that it was haunted. The gossips were there with a reason, but what was it that was really happening in the mill? Well, you can read all about it at TIC Luce (scroll down for information about Žagerski mlin mill).

A little bit more than a year ago a Photo book about Velika planina was published by the organizer of OO.cup. It all started with OO.cup, when I (I.Nagy) decided to have OO.cup organized for the first time on this beautiful alpine plateau. Making photographs of the area for promotional material was big fun for me as was chatting and drinking schnapps with herdsmen whom I've been meeting along the way. So in 2007 I came to idea that some nice publication should be made about this great place. Not long after, the project materialized in form of book, which not only contains landscape photos and shepherd portraits, but also some text in English and Slovene about the History, Herdsmen tradition, Alpine dairy farming in past and present etc... This book is a nice souvenir for any participat of OO.cup/2010 as it is about the exact place where some stages will be held!
Please take a look of a few randomly chosen page spreads here. The book is hardcovered, with 96 pages of 23,5cm x 21,5cm size and 170g/m2, glossy paper.

Note that OO.cup entrants can order the book through our online entries, for a special price of 12 EUR (normal price in the bookstores is 19 EUR). The book will wait for you at Competition Center.

The accommodation section is temporarily finished. New accommodation offer will only be added when we run out of certain type of accommodation. We strongly recommend you to book your accommodation as soon as you make final decision to come to OO.cup.

Some months ago the upper valley of river Savinja (Solcavsko district with Logar valley) was chosen as European destination of excellence 2009. More about it you can read
here.
Solčavsko district is a place where many of you will have their accommodation during the OO.cup. It is close to stages 1, 3, 4 and 5 and a bit farther from stage 2.

We have now published the first (and the main) part of our accommodation offer, which you can see under accommodation section. The rest will follow. If you are interested in pictures of
particular accommodation type, write us and we will send them to you. The bookings should be made through oocup.accommodation@gmail.com.

Please let us also remind you about the 3 day event XTREMOR that will be organized by us less than one week before OO.cup. This is a bit different kind of event, but in 2009 we all had great fun - competitors and the organizers. For sure we'll prepare some really cool orienteering at XTREMOR in 2010 as well. Check all about it here. The week between Xtremor and OO.cup will be filled with some interesting trainings on fine slovenian terrain. This basically means that you will have a chance to do some really exciting orienteering in Slovenia from 17th to 28th July EVERY DAY!!
Last but not least don't forget about our Online Survey, which can bring you the main prize - 3 free transferable entries to OO.cup! Everyone who has competed at least once at OO.cup can take part.

The tricky part of the survey is that we will close it without prior notice. It will last at least 1 week and at most 3 months. So, hurry up taking it :)! But please take those 10 minutes
to really read the questions and answers. Unfortunately, the survey cannot be taken annonymously if you want to take part in drawing. But no worries, whatever you write you will
not get on any black list or anything :))! However, we might eliminate you from drawing if it will be completely clear that you have not read the questions/answers ;).

Today we have made the final agreement with the leading camp in Upper Savinjska valley to host the Competition center of OO.cup/2010. This also means that all competitors that book
accommodation through us will have special discounts. The price information is not published yet, but we will do our best to do so in the course of next week. Any questions you

With the camp deal it is now clear that the next OO.cup will be the best one so far from the social point of view.
The camp team will prepare side programme for us every evening. Stay tuned for more.
